Abstract

This study investigated Parenting Style as a Predictor of Self-Efficacy among the Adolescents children (A case Study of Enugu East Local Government Area) Enugu State. To achieve the research major objective which is to ascertain the effect of child neglect in Enugu State, the researcher interrogated some parents, in order to ascertain their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the researcher reviewed literatures related to the subject matter. Two theories were used to analyze the study in other to make it update. The researcher specified the requirements for effective relationship between parents and their children, summarized the findings of the study, concluded and made some necessary recommendations based on the findings of the study. The recommendations were thus: Mutual understanding and close relationship between parents and children are recommended. It is also recommended that the methods of correct interaction of parents and children be more valued. The researcher recommends that the entire populace of Enugu State be given some periodic enlightenment to the relationships between child abuse and self – efficacy. Since this will expose them to the understanding of the dangers of child abuse, and therefore, allow them to have reasonable insight into the possible reasons for National chaos. Parents should familiarize their children with roles of businesses in society and the need for employment in legitimate businesses and this important affair should be more emphasized through mass media and family training classes.
