Project topic for Computer Science department

ABSTRACT

This project automates secondary school students’ records. It will aid school proprietors, teachers and general administrative arm of schools to effectively manage students and other stakeholders of the school. In the system, the application developed is a web based (thin client). The need to have a computerized system that will meet the growing needs of our secondary schools is now critical for the success and growth of the educational institutions. The web application facilitates online registration of students, recording, viewing or printing of results and to view status and reports of students by their parents/guardians, and by the ministry of education bureau officials. This project is developed using structured system analysis and design methodology to help the department responsible for maintaining the Students’ Records on Registration, collection and uploading, and Result Printing in Royal Crown Academy, Nsukka (ROCAN). It has been noted that the recordings were maintained manually, with the help of this, the concerned department will be able to improve in productivity, reduce the time and cost factors associated with the systems. “The Web-Based Secondary School Management Information System” will help ROCAN in proper maintenance of the recording, less manpower, less cost, proper and accurate functioning. This system will be used to keep Records of staff and students’ detail such as Registration detail, Result Uploading and Result (Report Card) storage of the students.
